About the authors:
Written and collated by Herbalists Without Border Bristol, a volunteer organisation made up of medical herbalists, community herbalists, people who are passionate about herbal medicine, and herb growers. HWBB is a local Bristol group not affiliated with any other organisation.
HWBB has provided free herbal medicines to the refugee community in Bristol since 2016 via local support projects that work with asylum seeks and refugees.
Plants have always paid little heed to human imposed borders; responding to external conditions, seeds spread to new lands and make home for themselves where the environment will sustain them. HWBB is one answer to the question of how to respond to the pressures that migration places upon people when they have to uproot and start again.
